Brazil sees illegal mobile phone market share drop to 12% in 2025
Brazil managed to reduce the illegal mobile phone market share from 19 percent in 2024 to 12 percent of sales in 2025, according to the annual report of the Association of the Brazilian electrical and electronics industry (Abinee). The reduction was due to collaborative efforts between Abinee, Anatel, Senacon, the Federal Police, the Federal Revenue, and the Legislative Branch. According to the association, the Chinese brands Xiaomi and Realme are the main targets of smuggling.
