Illegal mobile phones accounted for 25 percent of the Brazilian market at the end of December 2023, according to a new study by the Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronic Industry (Abinee) in collaboration with IDC. The figure doubled in just one year, jumping to 6.2 million units sold in the fourth quarter of last year from 10 percent in 2022.
